Sheetrocking is for the dogs

Kevan has officially finished sheetrocking, mudding, taping and SANDING the family room!!! I can throw up some primer in there today and get it painted tomorrow!! The floors can start going down on Sunday!!

I don't think that he thought the day would EVER come that he would be done sanding.. My amazing husband is such a hard worker. He has been a slave to that room and it will be nice to see him without grey hair (from the dust) for another 20 years...

So Hip Hip Hooray!!! Three Cheers for Kevan!!

I'll post pics as soon as we get the room painted...

Between the kitchen being primed and this room about to be primed and painted, it's really starting to feel like OUR home instead of A house....

Still a-pluggin and a-chuggin...

So it's only a couple more days until Colton comes home and we are sooo excited!! We've missed him so much around here and it really makes you realize how empty your life is without kids!!! I can't wait to give him tons of smooches!!

But boy, oh boy... It was the right thing to do to send him away.

I'm looking around my kitchen and family room right now at the mess of dust caused by the never ending sequence of mudding and sanding occurring in the family room and I just don't have a CLUE as to how I would have handled having him around in this mess!! I have a step-ladder sitting in the middle of my kitchen, still no carpet throughout the upper levels of the house, still no flooring laid down in the family room and just a mess everywhere!!! There isn't one area of this house that isn't being worked on, or used for storage!!

Sooo... We have finished up all of the main work in MayO's room. The walls are rag painted and the chair rail is up. I still need to do some touchup in some places and I also need to putty up the chair rail where it was nailed to the wall. But it looks great!! Kevan was FREAKING out when he saw the underlayer of purple that was in there. It was a fun thing to watch him figure out how to say that he absolutely HATED it and was sooo hoping that we were going a different route... I did put him out of his misery and it is beautiful now...

I tore down all of the ugly wallpaper border in the kitchen and then last night started priming it. I was up until about 12:30 painting, so I'm exhausted. The flowers are gone!!! whoohoo!!! I loooove the color for the kitchen. This is just the primer that is up, but the primer is tinted the same color as the final color, just not the same quality or finish. I chose semi-gloss for the kitchen.
Here are the flowers that were lovingly hand painted in the doorways...

And here is the primer (same color, different finish) over those beaaautiful flowers:

Please excuse the mess that are our kitchen countertops at the moment, they are covered in paint cans, plaster etc...

Notice how amazingly well the fridge both looks and FITS in the kitchen now!!!!!!!!!

I love it!!! I can't wait to see it once it's all painted for real instead of just primed!!

The only downfall about Colton coming home Sunday is that we're going to be so exhausted from working nonstop for the past 2 weeks on the house, that we're just going to want to sleep!!! hahaha!!!

The bar has been framed out and it's coming along great! I just purchased a bar sink off of craigslist that I'm going to meet the guy and pick it up in a couple of hours. It fits The Pub theme perfectly!! Adam and Kevan did a great job starting on the bar though. It's all coming together!!!!

I really do feel like this construction phase will never end though. ugh. One day... one day.

We also have a very busy weekend this weekend seeing all of Kevan's cousins that are coming into town!!! Wade, Tinneal and the boys are in town for a hockey tourn this weekend and then Jessica is coming into town for a wedding. So we'll have some down time also and not just be slaves to homeownership...

We're in!!!!!!! And the work has begun

So we've been in the new house for about a week now and things are progressing very fast!!! My mom came out last weekend to help out with getting things in order and really worked herself to the bone helping get two of the three bathrooms near completion. I'm so happy with how everything is turning out so far!! Our bedroom is almost completely painted (just a little touch up needed) and the master dressing room is also almost completely painted (also just a little touch up needed)

We had a great birthday yesterday and went out for a wonderful dinner at the Claim Jumper. We ate waaaay too much food, but had a great time. We brought about 15 pounds of food home with us. I can't believe that I'm 27 now and that Kevan is 29. This was our 6th birthday that we celebrated together. Time really does fly by.

Colton went to New York with my mom for the next 2 weeks while we get the rest of the house in order. I've been so sick and the poor kid can really only run around the play room. So with him not being here during the biggest part of the construction (sheetrock etc) it's really for the best for him. But we're missing him like crazy!!!!!!! This is going to seem like forever that he's gone.

I had my 25 week doctors appointment today and it went great! Her heartbeat is at 160 and I'm measuring right on target. I will take a Belly shot next time that I have on real clothes instead of painting gear.
